Challenge Rules
- Each application must represent a new work effort and introduce a solution not currently available.
- Submitter will provide link to site or page where application can be downloaded by judges in working form free of charge
- Contest entries and material submitted to RootsTech is the sole responsibility of the submitter.
- Application must localized for the English language (in addition to any other language).
- One entry per application.
- You must apply to participate in the RootsTech Developer Challenge by December 17, 2011.
- All entries must be submitted on or before January 23, 2012.
Judging Criteria
- Finish & Polish: Is the application easy-to-use and aesthetically appealing?
- Effective Solution: Does the application provide an effective solution to a real problem?
- Market Value: How large is the population the app will serve? How vital is the problem it is trying to solve?
- Originality of Concept: Is the application unique or innovative?
- Business Viability: How likely is the application to earn broad adoption and satisfy customer needs?
Winner Selection Process
Your contest entry will be judged on the five criteria by a panel of six independent judges. The names and backgrounds of the judges will be made available in the near future. Each selection criterion will be weighted equally. The judging panel will select the top six entries as finalists. Winners will be announced at RootsTech 2012.
