Ben W. Brumfield

A software engineer with fifteen years of industry experience, Ben builds open-source tools for transcribing and indexing manuscript records. He got started building family history software in 2005, when he started building FromThePage, a tool that allows his family to transcribe and publish his great-great grandmother’s diaries online. Ben is currently working with FreeBMD to build a free, general-purpose tool for indexing and searching handwritten parish registers and census records from the UK.
