Description

In this class specifically designed for LDS Church members, you will learn about what to do if your tree on FamilySearch Family Tree is empty, what you can do if the “work is all done,” and what other family history opportunities you can participate in, such as FamilySearch indexing. You will also learn about the wide variety of help resources available to you as you find, organize, and prepare your ancestors’ names as part of the full family history and temple experience. Note: We recommend first taking the “First Steps in Family History” class as a foundation
for this class.

Candace Turpin is a proud 5th generation Idahoan and Montanan. She was introduced to her family history while digging through the Montana homestead and finding hundreds of old photographs. She didn’t know most of the people in the photographs, and started to learn more about them. Her desire to learn more about her family led her to the Family History Certificate program at BYU which eventually led to a career change from school teacher to her current position at FamilySearch. She enjoys helping others discover their own family history and connecting those experiences to their own lives.
