Can’t find your ancestor in a genealogical database that you know he or she should be in? Learn a few points about the way genealogical databases are created and some search techniques that will help you overcome this frustration and improve your ability to locate those elusive records.

Mike Mansfield

Mike works for FamilySearch in the Content Strategy group and worked previously at Ancestry.com where he was the Director of Search and Content Engineering. He has extensive experience with search technologies and historical records. Mike is currently pursuing a Masters of Library and Information Science at Syracuse University.
