As of January 2013, there are 108 Facebook pages set up to help with your research questions. The strength of the FamilySearch sponsored Facebook pages for getting help with your research questions is the community of Fans on every page! A lot of people around the world are looking for help with their genealogy and there are just as many people willing to help someone else. Through social media, the communication is almost instant and “Fans” of our genealogy research community pages are helping each other. The pages are devoted to a specific geographical location or type of research. Come “Like” a page or two, be part of the community that works together to help each other. Fran Jensen, MPA, is employed by the Family History Department in Salt Lake City, where she is a FamilySearch social media manager. Previously she worked on the development of the FamilySearch Wiki from it’s inception. Currently she manages the 100+ FamilySearch sponsored Facebook pages created as a service to support your genealogy efforts.
